How to Properly Maintain and Replace Wet Bulb Gauze for Temperature and Humidity Chambers

Maintaining the wet bulb gauze in a constant temperature and humidity test chamber is crucial to ensure accurate humidity readings. Improper installation or worn gauze can lead to inaccurate results. Below are steps and tips for proper installation and replacement:

Correct Installation Steps:

1、Prepare the Gauze: Cut about 100mm of wet bulb gauze.

Important Considerations:

Replace Regularly: If the gauze hardens or its water absorption decreases, replace it immediately.

Alternative Material: In the absence of wet bulb gauze, standard wet tissues can be used temporarily.

Remove Gauze for Long Tests: For long-term temperature tests, remove the gauze to avoid damage.

Check Placement: Ensure the gauze is correctly hung on the humidity sensor, not the temperature sensor, to avoid misreadings.

Routine Maintenance: Clean or replace the gauze every 3 months, and clean the gauze monthly to avoid mineral deposits affecting its absorption.

Troubleshooting Humidity Display Issues:

Humidity Display Stuck at 100%: This could be due to incorrect gauze placement, or the gauze not absorbing water properly. In such cases:

Check for discoloration or wear.

Inspect the water tank for proper water levels.

Ensure the water flow and refill systems are functional.

By following these steps, you can extend the accuracy and life of your temperature and humidity chamber. For any further questions or issues, feel free to contact us at marketing@aslitesting.com. We offer free consultations and troubleshooting support.
